Die unterbrochene Hochzeitsreise (1890)_Walter Firle (German, 1859 – 1929)
Is every new challenge always exciting?
No.
We all know that taking on new challenges, including writing, is not easy. There are many reasons why we hesitate to take on challenges, but one of them is the fear of 'What if I fail?'
Before taking on a challenge, we have hope that 'I can do it', but in the face of the possibility of failure, we fear that even that hope might be shattered. However, if we don't act, we can't even experience failure.
Many people want to write, but despite their love for writing, they suppress their passion and live their lives. They find it difficult to endure the future anxieties that they might face if they choose something they love.
However, some people, with the belief that 'Rome wasn't built in a day', persevere silently without fearing failure. Who will succeed? You don't need me to tell you the answer.
Will you not take on a challenge because of uncertainty, or will you find meaning within that uncertainty?
Even amidst such conflict, if you summon the courage to move forward, you will receive the appropriate reward from the challenge you started due to uncertainty. A book I recently read, <Positive Human>, says this:
"You can avoid momentary anxiety by not making a choice. However, doing so will not bring you satisfaction. Because if you don't make a choice, you won't be able to live the life you want." (p127)
I deeply agree with this statement. If you don't choose because you're afraid, you might maintain temporary comfort, but you'll never experience the satisfaction that comes from making a choice.
Le Long De La Seine_Jean Béraud (French, 1849-1935)
I always cheer for a life where you can blossom your passion for writing without fearing challenges and failures.
A life where you challenge yourself with a light heart, discarding the burden of having to be perfect from the start, and trying again or finding another way if you fail is always beautiful.
Even if you fear failure, your continued efforts to challenge yourself will ultimately inspire many.
A life where you follow your passion and challenge yourself. A life where you learn and grow from failures. I believe that life itself is worth living, and when we see someone challenging themselves despite their fears, we are moved by the value of their lived experience.
